About Rinat Akhmetov
Ukraine's richest person, Rinat Akhmetov has vowed to stay in Ukraine and support his country in its fight against Russia.
Russian forces destroyed plants owned by his mining and steel firm Metinvest and ravaged substations of his power generation firm DTEK. More than 1,400 of his employees have died as a result of the war.
He says his companies, which still operate, have donated $368 million in goods and have invested around $4 billion in restoring infrastructure destroyed by Russia, building new facilities and modernizing production.
The son of a coal miner, Akhmetov got his start buying up mining assets during the 1990s privatization era.
Akhmetov is believed to own a 476-foot yacht, named Luminance, that cost him $500 million. He also owns a French villa and a London apartment.
