About Alberto Alcocer

Alberto Cortina derives his wealth largely from shares in construction company ACS, led by billionaire Florentino Pérez.

He and his billionaire cousin Alberto Cortina ran their wives' Construcciones y Contratas firm from the early 1970s until 1989, when both marriages fell apart.

Alcocer and Cortina then moved into banking, running Banco Zaragozano. They sold their combined 40% stake to Barclays in 2004

The cousins were married to sisters Esther and Alicia Koplowitz, who were previously significant shareholders of the FCC construction group.
