Zhu Yiming is the chairman of Shanghai-listed memory chip giant CXMT, which raised in July 2026 $8.6 billion in one of the largest listings in Asia ever.
The company, also known as Changxin Memory Technologies, is the world's fourth largest producer of DRAM chips by market share, after Samsung, SK Hynix and Micro, according to Counterpoint Research.
Zhu is also the chairman of Shenzhen-listed GigaDevice Semiconductor, a supplier of flash memory chips.
With support from the Hefei municipal government, he cofounded CXMT in 2016 amid China's drive to control AI and semiconductor supply chains.
Before returning to China in 2005, the U.S.-trained mogul worked for iPolicy Networks and Monolithic System Technologies in Silicon Valley.
