About Sergei Studennikov & family

Sergei Studennikov is founder of the Krasnoye & Beloye (Red & White) chain of self-service liquor stores, the largest liquor retailer in Russia.

In 2019, he merged it with the Dixy supermarket chain owned by billionaires Igor Kesaev and Sergei Katsiev to form Mercury Retail Group Limited.

Mercury Retail, in which he and his wife have a 49% stake, is the leading alcohol retailer in Russia with 15,000 stores.

Mercury postponed its much anticipated IPO after Putin invaded Ukraine.

In the 1990s, Studennikov founded a company that distributed vodka, beer and tobacco. He opened his first Red & White store in Kopeysk in 2006.
