About Sam Goi

Son of a Fujian farmer, Sam Goi owns Tee Yih Jia Food Manufacturing, one of the world's largest makers of popiah skins, which are used for spring rolls.

Goi started his career by joining his father's grocery business. He later ventured into the frozen food industry by acquiring a struggling food business.

He also has real estate interests through his stakes in listed firms GSH and KOP.

In 2021, he became chairman of Singapore-based consumer goods firm Hanwell Holdings after a boardroom tussle. Hanwell is now PSC where he owns a majority stake.

Goi is Singapore's non-resident ambassador to Brazil.
