Remo Ruffini turned around a nearly bankrupt luxury sportswear firm Moncler, taking the company public in 2013 in one of Italy's largest IPOs in years
Ruffini started out as the company's creative director in 1999 and a few years later bought the brand. Now chairman and CEO, he owns a 24% stake.
Ruffini introduced new colors and designs at Moncler, and partnered with the Carlyle Group to expand internationally.
He got his start in the U.S. working for his father's clothing company, Gianfranco Ruffini.
In 1984 he returned to Italy and founded his own brand, New England Company, which was sold in 2000.
