Randall Rollins, the longtime chairman of pest control company Rollins Inc., died at age 88 on August 17, 2020.
Of the 19 subsidiaries under the Atlanta-headquartered Rollins Inc. umbrella, exterminator Orkin is the best known.
His brother Gary, also a billionaire, is CEO of the $2 billion (revenues) company.
The firm was created by Rollins' father and uncle, who bought several local radio stations and called it Rollins Broadcasting. It went public in 1961.
The family ventured into pest control when it purchased Orkin in 1964, in one of the first leveraged buyouts in American history.
