Zhao Ning is a co-founder and director of WuXi Apptec, a pharmaceutical research company based in China.
She is also a board member at WuXi Biologics, which like Apptec is led by her billionaire husband Ge Li.
Zhao holds an undergraduate degree from Peking University; she has a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
Zhao worked as a research and development supervisor at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Pharmacopeia and Bristol-Myers Squibb in the 1990s and 2000s.
The couple's Ge Li & Ning Zhao Family Foundation supports education, scientific research, and healthcare innovations; it donated $20 million to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Cancer in 2021.
