Madan Mohanka is the chairman of Kolkata-based Tega Industries, which manufactures products such as mill liners and conveyor components that are used for mining, mineral processing and material handling.
Mohanka, a trained engineer, founded the company in 1976 in collaboration with a Swedish firm, initially targeting the mining industry.
Today, Tega Industries has more than 700 customers across 70 countries and operations in Chile, South Africa and Australia.
He took the company public in 2021, when it got listed at a 68% premium to the IPO price.
His son Mehul, who has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, is the managing director and group CEO.
