Lin chairs PX Mart, one of Taiwan's largest supermarket chains.

He took over PX Mart from the government in 1998 when it had 66 outlets. Today it boasts over 1,000 stores as well as minimarkets that serve Taiwan's remote villages.

In 2022, the company completed a $377 million deal to purchase a 96% stake in hypermarket chain RT-Mart's Taiwan business.

Lin also controls real estate developer Yuanlih Construction and Hwatai Bank of Taipei.
