About Joaquin del Pino y Calvo-Sotelo
Joaquin del Pino y Calvo-Sotelo inherited his stake in Spain's Ferrovial S.A., one of the country's largest builders, founded by his late father Rafael del Pino Moreno.
Ferrovial, which means railway in Spanish, was started in an attic in central Madrid and got its big break when it built the railway between the cities of Las Rozas and Chamartín, laying out 18 miles of track in 30 days.
Its business now spans airports, highways, construction and energy.
Formerly an owner of London's Heathrow Airport, Ferrovial built its third runway, two terminals and an integrated baggage system.
Del Pino y Calvo-Sotelo sat on the company's board from 2010 to 2021.
His brother Rafael chairs the company and his sister Maria is president of the family's charitable foundation; both of them are also billionaires.
