About Jeremy Allaire
Jeremy Allaire is the cofounder and CEO of Circle, issuer of USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization.
A serial entrepreneur, Allaire previously founded and took public two internet companies: Allaire Corp., which helped web developers build sites, and Brightcove, a pioneer in online video publishing.
He pivoted to crypto in 2012, driven by an interest in creating a more robust international monetary system after the 2008 financial crisis, and cofounded Circle with Sean Neville.
The company initially focused on bitcoin payments before launching USDC in 2018 in partnership with crypto exchange Coinbase.
He took Circle public in June 2025 in a high-profile IPO, the first ever for a stablecoin issuer.
