Gim Seong-gon is the chairman of CS Wind, a maker of wind towers, which he founded in 1988.

In 2008, Goldman Sachs invested around $40 million in the company, allowing it to expand into other markets.

CS Wind now has operations in China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam.

Gim, who grew up poor, worked at a local construction company and opted to be stationed in its Saudi Arabia branch for a higher salary.

He later set up a trading company for construction materials in Saudi Arabia before his foray into wind towers.
