About George Pastor

Pastor is the son of Carlos Rodriguez-Pastor, a Peruvian politician who along with outside investors acquired Banco Internacional del Peru in 1994.

His billionaire brother, Carlos, took over leadership of the bank after his father died and has since invested its profits in other businesses.

A political coup sent the family exile in California in the 1980s; when they returned, the elder Rodriguez-Pastor served as Minister of Economy from 1982 to 1984.

The family owns the majority of the publicly traded company Intercorp Financial Services.
