About Eiichi Kuriwada

Eiichi Kuriwada's father, Kiyoshi Sagawa, founded a package delivery firm in 1957; now called Sagawa Express, it's Japan's No. 2 delivery outfit.

Sagawa Express parent SG Holdings listed its shares on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 2017.

Kuriwada stepped down as president of SG Holdings in 2015 but remained chairman. In 2021, he returned as president but stepped down again two years later.

Shares of the company had soared on the back of a jump in online buying during the pandemic but have since declined.
