Donald Sihombing founded and runs Indonesian construction outfit, PT Totalindo Eka Persada, which built the Jakarta Four Seasons, among much else.

A US-educated civil engineer, he worked in construction before setting up his own company in 1995 and building what was then Southeast Asia's largest mall.

Since its June 2017 IPO, Totalindo's share price has soared, registering a ten-fold increase at its peak. Sihombing owns 74%.

Under a government program, Totalindo is diversifying into low-income housing to offset volatility in high-end projects.
